"When I was just 11 years old, my days did not begin with school assemblies or homework. Instead, they began with long hours of work. My father was a daily wage labourer, and my mother worked in several homes to support our family. With very little income and many responsibilities, I had to leave school and start working at a local workshop to help earn money.
Every day, I watched children my age carrying school bags while I carried tools. Deep inside, I wanted to study, learn, and build a better future, but our circumstances made it seem impossible. I believed that my dream of education would remain just a dream.
Everything changed when Kartavyam reached our community. Their team spoke to my family about the importance of education and the harmful effects of child labour. They encouraged my parents to send me back to school and provided the support I needed to restart my education.
With Kartavyam's guidance, educational assistance, and continuous encouragement, I was able to leave work and return to the classroom. At first, it was difficult because I had missed several years of studies, but the support I received helped me regain confidence and catch up with my classmates.
Today, I am studying regularly and dreaming about a brighter future. I want to become a teacher so that I can help other children who are forced to work instead of going to school. I want every child to know that they deserve an education, opportunities, and the freedom to dream.
