"After retiring, life became increasingly difficult for me. My children had moved to different cities in search of work, and I spent most of my days alone. With growing health concerns and limited financial resources, even simple daily tasks became challenging. The loneliness was often harder to bear than the physical difficulties.
There were times when I felt forgotten and disconnected from society. I had spent my entire life working hard to support my family, but in my later years, I struggled to find companionship, purpose, and support. Many senior citizens in my community face similar challenges, living in isolation without anyone to share their concerns with.
My life began to change when I became associated with Kartavyam. Through their senior citizen welfare initiatives, I was able to participate in community gatherings, health awareness sessions, and social engagement programs. For the first time in many years, I felt heard, valued, and respected
The volunteers at Kartavyam regularly interacted with us, listened to our experiences, and encouraged us to stay active and involved in community life. These interactions restored my confidence and gave me a renewed sense of purpose. I even began mentoring young students, sharing life lessons and experiences that I had gathered over the years.
Today, I no longer feel alone. I have friends, a supportive community, and opportunities to contribute meaningfully to society. Kartavyam reminded me that age should never be a barrier to living with dignity, happiness, and hope.
